Jamie Johnson established Car Parts Direct in 2004 as an auto parts brokering business out of his home in Winona, Minnesota. A year later, he moved back to his hometown of Fairmont, where he continued the business. In the beginning, most of his customers were out of state, from the West Coast and East Coast. But word got around, and Jamie started getting more calls from the local community. So, in 2008, he acquired the building where we are now located on Winnebago Avenue and opened a storefront with a salvage yard.
As our customer base for salvaged auto parts grew, we saw a need for the installation of the parts we were selling, so we started to offer some auto repairs and services. Over the years, we gained the trust of our community to handle automotive services honestly and professionally, and in 2018, we decided it was time to take the auto repair side of our business to the next level. Up until then, we were running as a salvage yard that offered auto repairs, and the business looked like a salvage yard with parts everywhere. Our auto shop is now clean and organized, with new lifts and new equipment. We are constantly upgrading and striving to stay ahead of the ever-evolving world of auto technology.
